Within this evolving landscape, designers who place importance on the more innovative and high-performance outcomes of material research can only look with interest at the ceramic slabs offered by Laminam. Laminam surfaces are multi-purpose, versatile, and capable of customising any hospitality setting thanks to their outstanding aesthetic value and exceptional functional performance.

Laminam finishes, obtained through sustainable industrial processes, offer extraordinarily rich variants while also being particularly suitable for heavily frequented places, as they are intrinsically antibacterial, ultra-resistant, and easy to clean, thanks in part to their large size which allows a reduced number of joints.

An example of the extensive use of Laminam surfaces is Meo Design Suites & Spa, a luxury resort designed by Sicilian firm Iraci Architetti in a historic Baroque building in the centre of Catania.

Within the rooms, where bedroom and bathroom are often in continuity, the designers used Laminam ceramic slabs both to guarantee superior hygiene performance and to create a distinctive, structured aesthetic approach while maintaining a uniform architectural style and full coherence of expression.

Their aim is successfully achieved thanks to the flexibility and the variety of textures, colours, sizes and thicknesses of Laminam surfaces, used for both the vertical and horizontal coverings to create a true “Laminam Effect”.

 

Still in Catania, and taking the same approach, the renovation of the Habitat Hotel by architects Marianna Nociforo and Antonio Spera of Habitat Studio has transformed a B&B into an attractive boutique hotel where Laminam ceramic slabs – used for the horizontal and vertical coverings in bathrooms, showers and bedrooms – evoke the former glory of Sicilian interiors, thanks to finishes inspired by the natural charm of marble and stone.

In the 125 bathrooms of the majestic DoubleTree by Hilton in Trieste, a refined interior design project by CaberlonCaroppi, the effect of grandeur produced by the extensive use of natural stone, which features throughout the historic common areas of the building, is brought to vertical and horizontal surfaces through the Laminam palette.

CaberlonCaroppi also designed the legendary Majestic Mountain Charme Hotel in Madonna di Campiglio, a prestigious destination in the Alps for many figures of the Italian dolce vita of the 60s. To evoke the charming landscape of the Brenta Dolomites and highlight the space’s architectural style, it was decided to embellish the bathrooms of the rooms and suites with the delicate shades and elegant surface structure of Pietra di Savoia Grigia Bocciardata.
