When summer comes, it brings with it the desire to take a break from the daily routine and immerse oneself in an oasis of tranquillity, beauty and discovery. The Summer Escape is more than just a physical journey: it’s an experience that transforms, inspires and revitalises us.
And this year, our escape takes us to a secluded corner of Marrakesh, a place that embodies the real spirit of this land, where design, culture and wellbeing merge in perfect harmony.
Join us and discover NYLA | Wellness Riad & Spa, a luxurious sanctuary that reveals the city’s most romantic, authentic soul.

Famed for the excellence of its hospitality, NYLA | Wellness Riad & Spa is the work of architect Mattia Siviero and designer Corinne Dressler of the MSDA architectural practice. The extension of the Riad, located in the heart of the Dar El Bacha Medina, completes this authentic wellbeing sanctuary, opened in 2023.
Corinne Dressler’s design vision is based on the interweaving of identity, location and memory, to generate an aesthetic language that evolves over time. In the Riad’s new area, this philosophy takes on concrete form through an exquisite fusion of elements from the Moroccan tradition – authentic materials, warm colours and decorative motifs – and contemporary design intended to provide the comfort and elegance required of luxury hospitality.
Each feature, from the glazed zellige tiles to the local fabrics, tells the vibrant story of an ancient culture, transforming every interior into an immersive experience where art, history and wellbeing flawlessly merge.

The beauty of Moroccan architecture with Laminam coverings
Here, sophisticated design combines with the amazing versatility and outstanding performance of Laminam slabs, used once again as wall cladding, as flooring and as finishes of the facility’s furnishing elements.
The delicate beige of Essaouira stone evokes the softness of skin, while the ochre, ivory, gold, white and brown shades of the Laminam surfaces, applied in communal areas and suites, recall the warm shades of Morocco’s land and desert. The green zellige tiles, deployed with restraint and refinement, reference the fresh vegetation and vitality of the oases and provide a symbol of natural equilibrium and continuity with the surrounding landscape.

Outdoor paving slabs: supreme relaxation on the terrace and patio
The large central patio invites guests into a small palace from the “Thousand and One Nights”, entrancing them with the natural plant motif on the arches, emphasised by the gilded light fittings carved by Marrakesh artisans. Here the floor, a crossroad of styles, welcomes the guest with the distinctive colour of Pietra Piasentina Taupe, and also features a mandala, a symbol of good luck and serenity, with at its centre a blue eye in Fluidosolido Blu Polished, set in its turn within an octagonal geometric form inspired by Moroccan gardens. The personality of the Fluidosolido collection combines well with the shades that construct the mandala: from the opulence of Seta Oro to the warm textures of Porfido Marrone and Pietra Piasentina Taupe Natural (both from the IN-SIDE collection), and from the simple elegance of Calce Terracotta and Avorio, to the sophisticated purity of Bianco Lasa Polished and Calacatta Oro.

The outdoor terrace extends a warm invitation to continue relaxing: Travertino Navona Bush-Hammered installed as paving emphasises the beige of the Essaouira stone bricks of the wall, making time stand still at the moment when traditional building methods meet Laminam’s ceramic innovation and know-how.
Ceramic slabs and flooring for the bathrooms: Laminam style and quality in Morocco, too
The experiential journey of a magical summer escape continues in the Riad’s most intimate areas, including the many bathrooms, genuine celebrations of simple luxury. The wall claddings and floorings are in the exquisite Diamond Cream Polished and Bianco Lasa Bush-Hammered shades from the I Naturali collection, combined with the Calce Terracotta and Avorio hues.

Here, the ceramic surfaces are viewed as furnishing elements in their own right, meticulously finished to create a mood of luxury and wellbeing.
Not to mention the bedrooms and suites: each one provides a unique experience, created with Made in Italy ceramics, Moroccan craftsmanship, custom-shaped slabs and traditional furnishing. In the floorings and wall claddings of the bedrooms and bathrooms, the Laminam collections are applied in accordance with classical Moroccan geometrical patterns, achieving a Laminam Effect that beautifies every interior. Guests will be immersed in a blend of oriental sophistication and the most absolute relaxation.

In other words, here every interior invites you to slow down, reconnect and be inspired.
Just like the summer holiday itself, and our dream escape to Marrakesh’s most romantic Riad.
